Stumbled upon my friend's blog which leads me to this site concerning university life. There are 10 advices which I personally like from that site but have yet to experience it. (although I really wish to) :)
1. Adjust your schedule around when you are most productive and creative. If you're nocturnal and do your best work late at night, embrace that. It may be the only time in your life when you can.
(sounds like a good advice but may be detrimental to health)
2. Go on dates. Don't feel like every date has to turn into a relationship.
(I wish. No time)
3. Take risks.
(as mentioned in one of my previous post)
4. Welcome failure into your lives. It's how we grow. What matters is not that you failed, but that you recovered.
(I have already experienced failure especially in my last sem. Results were horrendous. However, my perception of failure might be different from what you think. For me, failure means not performing well as what you hope for, which in other terms, means underachieving). Well, but the last part captivates me. What matters is not that you failed, but that you recovered. So, conclusion: I can only keep trying and trying, but I wonder how long I could actually last before I fall into severe depression of 'failing' too much)
5. It's important to think about the future, but it's more important to be present in the now. You won't get the most out of college if you think of it as a stepping stone.
(sounds good)
6. Don't be afraid to fall in love. When it happens, don't take it for granted. Celebrate it, but don't let it define your college (or maybe uni) experience.
(yeah, I am falling in love with my assignments, text books and projects. *sarcasm*. How I wish. But that sort of feeling haven't happen yet. And even if it do happen, I might be unable to commit fully due to busy-ness. )
7. Every once in awhile, there will come an especially powerful moment when you can actually feel that an experience has changed who you are. Embrace these, even if they are painful.
(Now this is extremely interesting. Hope to experience this in my remaining years in NTU)
8. Life is too short to stick with a course of study that you're no longer excited about. Switch, even if it complicates things.
(Lol. I guess that's not so possible in my uni eh? Since they are so many complicated procedures behind it and also the amount of money and time which you have to pay for it if you really want to do so)
9. Enjoy every second of the next four years. It is impossible to describe how quickly they pass.
(Good advice, and one which I hope will happen even though the assignments and projects are at a 'ridiculous' amount.
10. This is the only time in your lives when your only real responsibility is to learn. Try to remember how lucky you are every day.
(*nod nod*)
Okay, now back to finishing 3 homeworks. Hmmm.. and it seems I only post twice a month, which is so different compare to last time. Oh well, things change.
Starting out again is never easy. Disappointments come and go but life still moves on. So, no matter what problem you are facing, you can always start afresh, with God guiding you through. And there is always a glint of hope even in the darkest hour. -Lawrence-
