CF FOC '11

To sum it up, CF FOC was great!

It was a new experience for me since I get to mix with a lot of Singaporeans, and this is perhaps the only time which I get to know more CF-ers rather than only my CG members. Certainly an eye-opener for me too to understand more about the Singapore's army (since the guys in my OG discussed this very often. Lol)

Anyway, I feel this camp is more like a Christian camp, which is something which I haven't went to in ages. Yes, I really like the games (especially the grand prix part), and most importantly, the sharing part and the theme talk session, which is entitled, 'God's people'.

About the sessions, well, I never knew there's so much more to Hosea, a book which I didn't really read even though its in the Bible (-.-), plus I would say some sessions really train your mind to think, on whether you place God's values higher or your own moral values higher. Come to think of it, it's tough to make a choice if I were to be confronted with those questions as the human nature would probably take over, for example this simple question.

You see a starving orphan child in a third world country in Southeast Asia and have only one thing you can do. You would:

1. Lead the child in the sinner's prayer
2. Preach the gospel to the child before he breathes his last.
3. Give the child food.

Among this 3 options, obviously, if one were to really care about God's thing, it would probably be option 1 and 2, whereas most (normal humans) would choose option 3. However, if we were to choose option 3, we would somehow take a risk. Why do I say so? If the child dies after that without hearing the gospel being preached to him, who would be responsible? Yes, some may argue that we give the child food, then share the gospel with him, but then sometimes we would never know what will happen next, thus making sharing the gospel very important in that situation. In short, it really boils down to whether one values are more towards the world mentality or God's mentality in the end.

Well, that's about the short sharing. Of course, there's more to that, but I wouldn't want to be too wordy. So, let's come to the fun part : pictures. :)

Only 3 plates of chicken rice, and it's shared among 10 people. Guess how we shared it? Lol. Taken during the Food Trail - Dhoby Ghaut.

This is the fun part which 'the best OG' --> my group did - the Ultimate Pac Man tank. Design is the nicest among the OG's although it might not be the fastest. :)

It's a very nice game although I have very low stamina. To play this game, all a group need is cardboard, tape, string, newspaper, water bombs, a creative mind and a willing participant + 2 runners. Maybe this game (grand prix) could be incorporated into Malaysian FOC some day hopefully.

Before the water bomb

After the water bomb, the condition is as shown on photo. Kind of funny when I think of it.

The sauces which we collected on our last day during supper. It's just crazy! Not to mention exothermic reaction between the sauces, which I was tricked. :)

OG - The Best Group photo (last day) - Xuan, Eldora, Amanda, Shuyi (best AOGL), Samuel (best OGL), Joel, Jasper, Timothy, Yin Fang, me and Starsky.

Best OG looking great as usual. Lol. Taken after the Pac Man was smashed.

Last day - lunch at Tampines.

To end this post, I feel the bonding session between the OG is strong. We have good memories and fun together as an OG during the camp, and that memory would probably be stuck in my mind even though we might part ways in future.
